Eur Geol Eur Ing Professor F.C. Brassington BSc MSc CGeol FGS CEng MICE FCIWEM
Rick Brassington is a hydrogeologist with more than forty years of
professional experience. He was employed in the UK public sector water
industry from 1967 to 1991 when he entered consultancy. Rick has held
director-level posts with Hydrotechnica, Southern Science and Stanger
Science & Environment before establishing his own independent consultancy
practice in 1998. He is the author of some 30 technical papers and
scientific articles and two books on small water sources and field
techniques in hydrogeology. He has experience of working in all
parts of the UK and overseas experience in the Middle East, Germany,
Cyprus and the Falkland Islands. He also teaches at graduate and
post-graduate level at several universities. He is currently
Visiting Professor of Hydrogeology in the School of Civil
Engineering and Geosciences at Newcastle University. He was a
Visiting Senior Fellow at the University of Liverpool from 1989 to
2000 and was awarded the Aberconway Medal by the Institution of
Geologists in 1987 and a Publications Prize by the Chartered
Institution of Water and Environment Management in 1989
